Michel Rouquette Knight of the Legion of Honour

It is with immense joy and deep pride that we announce the appointment of Michel Rouquette to the rank of Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. The citizens' initiative we launched some time ago has borne fruit: the institution has recognised that his extraordinary career deserves to be celebrated.

Over and above the award, it is the recognition of a lifetime devoted to passing on, inspiring and training generations of athletes, and to upholding the values of sport and humanity.

A huge thank you to the sixty people who responded with exemplary responsiveness in putting together the administrative file, as well as to all those who took the time to send a letter of support. This collective effort shows that the greatness of a man is also measured by the love and respect he inspires.
