Buompane reappointed as FIG secretary general

Nicolas Buompane has been re-appointed as the secretary general of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).

Following a recommendation from FIG’s President Morinari Watanabe, the FIG Executive Committee voted to return Buompane to the role.

Buompane has been secretary general since 2019 when he took over from André Gueisbuhler.

Before that, Buompane was deputy secretary general, a position he held from November 2007.

Steve Butcher was re-appointed as FIG technical director.
