Lu Chunlong 2008 Olympic Champion
August 19, 2008: Lu Chunlong (CHN) brought a second Olympic gold medal in trampoline to China after a superb routine (41.00 pts) where he edged Jason Burnett (CAN), who had performed the most difficult routine at the beginning of the final. Burnett took the silver medal with 40.80 pts whereas Dong Dong (CHN) closely followed with 40.70 pts, winning the bronze medal. Pictures by Bo Tureby added.

He Wenna 2008 Olympic Champion
August 18, 2008: He Wenna (CHN) was crowned 2008 Olympic Champion today at the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China. Karen Cockburn (CAN) won her third Olympic medal as she claimed the silver. Ekaterina Khilko (UZB) won the most significant medal of her career as she took the bronze. Irina Karavaeva (RUS) would have won her second Olympic Champion title but for a contact with the side pads at the end of her routine. Pictures by Bo Tureby added.

He Wenna and Lu Chunlong take the lead in the...
August 17, 2008: He Wenna and Lu Chunlong, both from China, took the lead after the preliminaries, respectively in the women's and in the men's, of the trampoline competititon of the XXIX Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. The women's final will take place on August 18th, whereas the men's final is scheduled for August 19th. Pictures added.

2008 Olympic Preliminaries around the corner
August 15, 2008: The women's and men's trampoline preliminaries of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are just few hours away. The start lists of the competition have been finalized. Today was the day of the podium training, but was also the first opportunity for the trampolinists to practice at the National Indoor Stadium. Additional pictures by Bo Tureby posted.

August 14, 2008: According to the bookmakers' odds, the heavy favorites for the men's trampoline competition in Beijing are Lu Chunlong (CHN - 10/11) and Dong Dong (CHN - 1/1). The heavy favorites in the women's are Irina Karavaeva (RUS - 5/6) and Huang Shanshan (CHN - 7/5)

June 28, 2008: He Wenna (CHN) and Lu Chunlong (CHN) claimed the gold medals in the women's and men's individual trampoline finals of the Albacete World Cup held today in Castilla-La Mancha. In synchronized trampoline, the gold medals went to Natalia Chernova-Irina Karavaeva (RUS) and Alexander Chernonos-Yuri Nikitin (UKR). Viktoria Voronina (RUS) and Alejandro Ruiz (ESP) triumphed in the DMT competition held in parallel to the World Cup. Pics by Bo Tureby added.

June 21, 2008: Lu Chunlong (CHN) and Huang Shanshan (CHN) prevailed in the men's and women's individual trampoline finals of the 2008 Arosa World Cup - Nissen Cup that took place today in Arosa, Switzerland. In synchronized trampoline, the winners were Nikolai Kazak-Viacheslav Model (BLR) and Erin Blanchard-Alaina Hebert (USA), who won the first ever World Cup gold medal in trampoline for the U.S. The junior competition saw impressive victories from Mikhail Melnik (RUS) and Samantha Sendel (CAN). May 24, 2008: The 2008 Publier World Cup came to an end today with the finals in trampoline, tumbling, and acrobatic gymnastics. Karen Cockburn (CAN) and Dong Dong (CHN) took the gold in individual trampoline, whereas the synchronized trampoline medals went to Masaki Ito-Manabu Yamaguchi (JPN) and Natalia Chernova-Irina Karavaeva (RUS). Gold for Lu Chunlong and He Wenna at the 2008...
May 18, 2008: Lu Chunlong (CHN) and He Wenna (CHN) held on to their lead in the men's and women's individual trampoline finals that took place today at the Sunflower Dome of Osaka, Japan. Nikolai Kazak-Viacheslav Model (BLR) and Gu Qingwen-Jiang Yiqi (CHN) respectively won the gold medals in men's and women's synchronized trampoline.

Karavaeva and Nikitin 2008 European Champions
May 2, 2008: The 2008 European Championships came to an end today at Arena Fyn in Odense, Denmark, with the individual finals in the senior and junior competitions. Irina Karavaeva (RUS) won a record 5th European Champion title in the senior women's trampoline event, whereas Yuri Nikitin (UKR) reclaimed his title in the men's. Yulia Domchevska-Elena Movchan (UKR) and Viacheslav Model-Nikolai Kazak (BLR) won the European title in senior synchronized trampoline. Elena Chabanenko (UKR) and Andrei Krylov (RUS) were crowned in tumbling. Nicole Pacheco (POR) and Dimitri Fedorovsky (RUS) prevailed in DMT. In junior, Mikhail Melnik (RUS) became the only 2nd man in history to win the title twice in individual, whereas Emma Smith (GBR) won the women's event. Many pictures from Vladimir Zeman added.

5 gold medals for Russia at the team finals of...
May 1, 2008: Russia won 5 gold medals in the team finals of the 2008 European Youth Championships held in Odense, Denmark, today, leaving only one gold medal to Great Britain in women's tumbling. Nadezhda Glebova (RUS) and Mikhail Melnik (RUS) took the lead in the individual trampoline preliminaries. Rachael Letsche (GBR) and Denis Belkin (RUS) dominated the preliminaries in tumbling, whereas Svetlana Karavaeva (RUS) and Mikhail Zalomin (RUS) came in 1st places in the DMT preliminaries. Major Changes Proposed to the World Cup series...
February 29, 2008: The FIG Trampoline Technical Committee has proposed major changes to the rules applicable to the World Cup series, including a cap to the number of World Cups per year, the introduction of semi-finals, the elimination of separate World Cup categories, the attribution of points to the top 30 gymnasts in each event, and the opening of the last World Cup of each series only to the top 30 gymnasts.

Upcoming Changes to the Code of Points
February 29, 2008: The representatives of the delegations agreed to many of the changes to the 2009-2012 Code of Points as proposed by the FIG Trampoline Technical Committee, including the adoption of a semi final at World Championships and changes to trampoline difficulty with extra tenths for triple and quadruple somersaults.
