The 2018 Trampoline and Tumbling World Championships will feature a new event, a Combined Team Final competition.
The all-around event will combine individual trampoline, synchronised trampoline, double mini-trampoline and women and men’s tumbling.
The final will then be contested between the top five nations.
There are no further details at the moment, except that the Executive Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) made the decision for the Championships, which is being held in St Petersburg, Russia, from November 7-10, to test this new format.
World Cups for double mini-trampoline
Another change for this discipline is the go-ahead for Double Mini-Trampoline World Cups.
The Executive Committee gave its approval for the events, which can be associated with Individual Trampoline, Synchronised Trampoline and Tumbling World Cups, if the organisers of these events so wish.
Other key decisions included the creation of an Ethics Foundation and the appointment of its next Secretary General, who will take over from the current incumbent André Gueisbuhler (SUI) on January 1, 2019.
