    2006 British Synchro & DMT Championship

2006 British DMT Champion Nicola Pugh 
November 20, 2006: The 2006 British National Championship in synchronized trampoline and double mini-trampoline took place in Hull on November 18-19, 2006. Nicola Pugh and Matthew Swaffer prevailed in double mini-trampoline.

 

The British National Championship in synchronized trampoline and double mini-trampoline (DMT) took place in Hull on November 18-19, 2006.  The competition was also the stage to the Grade 2 British National Championship.

In the men's synchro event, Daniel Greaves and Bradley Hampson (City of Liverpool) prevailed with a score of 117.40 pts.  2000 World Cup Final silver medalists Mark Alexander-Simon Milnes (Edgbarrow), who qualified to compete at the 2006 World Cup Final the following week-end, crashed twice.  British internationals Luke Rendell-Matthew Wright also struggled, but nevertheless took the bronze medal.  The silver medal was won by Steven Williams and Joe McAdam.

In women's synchro event, Morag Brennan and Nicola Eder were crowned British Champions with 121.10.  The pairs Natalie Jacques-Lisa Blackburn and Amy Sims-Emma Scanlon joined them at the award ceremony.  The pair Claire Wright-Jaime Moore, who qualified for the 2006 World Cup Final, did not compete in Hull.

The other winners of the day included Paul Greaves-James Rowbotham (Over 19), Matthew Wright-Nicolas Winther (Under 19), and Nick Davies-Jack Blencowe (Under 17) in the men's age groups.  In the women's age groups, the new British Champions included Morag Brennan-Nicola Eder (Over 19), Amy Sims-Emma Scanlon (Under 19), and Sian Meldrum-Katy Ianson (Under 17), who beat Cara Jamieson-Bryony Page.

In DMT, Matthew Swaffer won the 17+ competition with 139.20 pts.  Dominic Swaffer took the silver medal with 134.40 pts, followed by Michael Leong (133.20 pts).  Nic Ouzman, Philip Dodson, and Jason Harvey finished close to the medalists. 

In the women's DMT event, Nicola Pugh (Stockport), 18, won with 126.40 pts, beating her teammates Pippa Pugh and Michelle ScottNicola Pugh finished 6th at the 2005 World Games.  She also took the 10th place at the 2006 European Championships. 

The Under 17 DMT competition was won by the very talented Asha Philip in the women's (133.10 pts) and Jack Gordon in the men's.   Asha Philip was the winner of the 2005 International Age Group competition (15-16 age group).
