Curitiba hosted a trial on July 28-29, 2006 to determine the trampoline Brazilian team that will compete at the Pan American Championship that will be held in Monterrey, Mexico, on August 18-19, 2006. A trial in rhythmic gymnastics took place in parallel.
13 athletes were selected in trampoline to compete in Mexico. Unfortunately, Anna Paula Milazzo, 19, who finished 20th at the 2005 World Championships while performing a 13.70 pt routine is not on the roster. It is unclear whether she is still competing.
The senior team in the women's includes Renata Teles, Lais Andrade, Bruna Garambone, and Giovanna Matheus. The selection in the men's still includes 5 names, and a new trial will take place soon to select the final four athletes. The senior competition at the Pan American Championship in Monterrey will be used to determine which athletes will compete at the 15th Pan American Games (i.e., the equivalent of the Olympics at the Pan American scale) to be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 15-16, 2007.
The Brazilian youth team for the Pan American Championship includes Joana Perez, Taissa Gatcia in the women's, and Rodrigo Pacheco and Vinicius de Oliveira in the men's.
The Brazilian roster at the 2005 World Championships featured Anna Paula Milazzo, Lais Andrade, Anna Carolina Milazzo, and Anna Paula Teixeira in the women's, and Rafael Andrade, Rodrigo Rodrigues, Carlos Ramirez Pala, and Thiago Cardoso in the men's.
