The Polish Acrobatic Sports Federation announced on March 31, 2006, that reknown coach Stanislaw Geron passed away on March 29, 2006, at the age of 71. Geron was the acrobatic gymnastics coach of the clubs of Rzeszow and Jaslo. He developed and coached numerous medalists at World and European Championships.
Stanislaw Geron began his work with the Rzeszow acrobats in 1963. He then joined the acrobatic club of Jaslo, to then come back to Rzeszow.
He was behind many international successes achieved by Polish acrobats. The greatest success by his athletes is probably the World Champion title won by the women's pair Brygida Sakowska and Ewelina Fijolek in 1998 at the World Championships in Minsk. Geron also coached the following World Cup winners or European Champions: the men's pair Andrzej Piechota and Tomasz Wlezien, the men's group Godzwon/Bielec/Nowak/Brudny, and the pair Wilk/Wiecek.
Those who knew him, even a little, know that one of the latest emblematic figures of Polish sports disappeared. He was a talent developer for whom acrobatics were a passion to which he dedicated his life.
The funerals will take place on April 5, 2006 at the Lwowskiej cemetery in Rzeszow.
