He Wenna and Ye Shuai 2009 Chinese Champions
May 23, 2009: He Wenna (Fujian) and Ye Shuai (Fujian) won the Chinese National Championship Tournament held in Fuzhou on May 21-23, 2009. Jia Fangfang (Zhejiang) and Yang Song (Fujian) were crowned in tumbling. The team events were won by the teams of Fujian in the women's and Jiangsu in the men's. A trial the next day was won by Zhong Xingping and Tu Xiao. Many pictures added.

Ito and Khilko Gold Medalists at the 2009 Sofia...
April 26, 2009: Masaki Ito (JPN) and Ekaterina Khilko (UZB) won the individual trampoline events of the World Cup held yesterday in Sofia, Bulgaria. Paired with Shunsuke Nagasaki (JPN), Ito won a second gold medal in synchronized trampoline. Jiang Yiqi-Gu Qingwen (CHN) prevailed in the women's synchronized trampoline competition. Wang Jiexu (CHN) and Anna Korobeynikova (CHN) took the gold medals in tumbling. Official detailed results added. Pictures by Bo Tureby added.

Burnett and Khilko take the lead at the 2009...
April 24, 2009: Jason Burnett (CAN) dominated the mens individual trampoline preliminaries of the World Cup held today in Sofia, Bulgaria, by setting a new world record for the highest scoring first routine. In the womens events, Ekaterina Khilko (UZB) and Gu Qingwen-Jiang Yiqi (CHN) took the lead respectively in individual and synchronized trampoline. Wang Jiexu (CHN) and Anna Korobeynikova (RUS) claimed the lead in tumbling. Official detailed results added.

Ito prevails at the 2009 Albacete Tournament
April 20, 2009: Masaki Ito (JPN) led a very impressive Japanese team and edged teammate Yasuhiro Ueyama (JPN) to capture the gold in the men's trampoline event of the 9th Albacete International Tournament held in Albacete, Spain, on April 15-19, 2009. Haruka Hirota (JPN) prevailed in the women's trampoline event. Japan won both the men's and women's team competitions. Jenten Roels (BEL) and Adeva Bryan (GBR) claimed the gold medals in double mini-trampoline. Detailed results added.

First Asian Championships to be held in Kazakhstan
April 20, 2009: The AGU Executive Committee attributed the organization of the 1st Asian Championships in trampoline and acrobatic gymnastics to the city of Astana in Kazakhstan. The event will take place in March 2010. This decision marks another key step in the development of trampoline and acrobatic sports in Asia, which saw the emerging domination of Asian athletes in trampoline over the most recent years.

Jensen crowned again at the 2009 Scandinavian Open
April 12, 2009: Peter Jensen (DEN) won his 7th title at the 31st Scandinavian Open held in Haslev, Denmark, on April 11, 2009. Maila Walmod (DEN) won in the women's trampoline event whereas Mikael Nissen (DEN) prevailed in tumbling. Athletes from 3 countries competed.

New outstanding routine by Jason Burnett (CAN)
2008 Trampoline Olympic Silver medalist Jason Burnett (CAN) breaks his own record for the highest difficulty routine ever executed in training. Burnett's previous record of 18.5 pts is worth 19.3 pts in the new difficulty code. He broke that record by an astounding 1.3 pts, which makes the new record 20.6 pts! Burnett performed this routine at Skyriders trampoline place in Toronto, Canada, on February 18.

Lu and Huang prevail at the 2008 Chinese...
October 27, 2008: Olympic Champion Lu Chunlong (CHN) won the gold medal at the 2008 Chinese National Championship Competition held in Qingdao, China, on October 24-26, 2008, by beating fellow Olympic medalist Dong Dong. In the women's, Huang Shanshan prevailed over Olympic Champion He Wenna. The gold medals in tumbling went to Wang Jiexu in the men's and Song Yehong in the women's. Pictures added.

2010 World Championships to be held in Metz,...
December 15, 2008: The 27th World Championships in trampoline, tumbling, and double mini-trampoline will be held in Metz, France, on November 11-13, 2010. They will be followed by the World Age Group Competition on November 17-19, 2010.

2009 World Cup to be held in Ostend, Belgium
December 15, 2008: The city of Ostend, Belgium will host a World Cup in trampoline and tumbling on August 28-29, 2009. In addition, the dates of the 2009 Salzgitter World Cup have been finalized. This fifth and final stage of the 2009 World Cup Series will be held on September 11-12, 2009.

October 27, 2008: Masaki Ito won his first Japanese Champion title at the 45th Japanese Championship (All-Japan Championship) held in Kushiro, Japan, on October 25-26, 2008, edging Yasuhiro Ueyama. Haruka Hirota won her 8th consecutive Japanese Champion title.

World Cups to be held in Bulgaria, Poland, and...
October 18, 2008: Trampoline and tumbling World Cups will be held in 2009 in Sofia, Bulgaria (April 24-25), Zielona Gora, Poland (September 4-5), and Salzgitter, Germany (September). In addition, the FIG postponed the deadline to submit bids to host World Cups in 2009.

Triumph for Burnett and MacLennan at the 2008...
September 29, 2008: Jason Burnett (CAN) triumphed at the World Cup that ended yesterday in Loule, Portugal, competing the second most difficult routine (17.30 pt) of all time and becoming the first ever Canadian trampolinist to win a World Cup in men's individual trampoline. Rosannagh MacLennan (CAN) completed the Canadian sweep in individual trampoline with her first ever World Cup win. Tetsuya Sotomura-Yasuhiro Ueyama (JPN) and Ekaterina Mironova-Tatiana Petrenia (BLR) claimed the gold medals in synchronized trampoline. Huang Shanshan winner of the 2008 World Cup Final
September 20, 2008: Huang Shanshan (CHN) bounced back from her Olympic disillusion by winning the women's individual trampoline gold medal of the World Cup Final that concluded today in Togliatti, Russia. Andrei Krylov (RUS) prevailed in men's tumbling, whereas Tetsuya Sotomura-Yasuhiro Ueyama (JPN) captured the gold medal in men's synchronized trampoline.

Dong Dong wins the 2008 World Cup Final
September 19, 2008: Dong Dong (CHN) easily beat his rivals to be the first Chinese trampolinist to win a World Cup Final today at the 9th World Cup Final held in Togliatti, Russia. Ekaterina Mironova-Tatiana Petrenia (BLR) won the event in women's synchronized trampoline, whereas Anna Korobeynikova (RUS) captured her 3rd World Cup Final crown in women's tumbling. The last three finals will take place tomorrow, September 20, 2008.

Lu Chunlong 2008 Olympic Champion
August 19, 2008: Lu Chunlong (CHN) brought a second Olympic gold medal in trampoline to China after a superb routine (41.00 pts) where he edged Jason Burnett (CAN), who had performed the most difficult routine at the beginning of the final. Burnett took the silver medal with 40.80 pts whereas Dong Dong (CHN) closely followed with 40.70 pts, winning the bronze medal. Pictures by Bo Tureby added.

He Wenna 2008 Olympic Champion
August 18, 2008: He Wenna (CHN) was crowned 2008 Olympic Champion today at the National Indoor Stadium in Beijing, China. Karen Cockburn (CAN) won her third Olympic medal as she claimed the silver. Ekaterina Khilko (UZB) won the most significant medal of her career as she took the bronze. Irina Karavaeva (RUS) would have won her second Olympic Champion title but for a contact with the side pads at the end of her routine. Pictures by Bo Tureby added.
